About Organizer
Runwari is the brainchild of Indian ultra-runner Bhushan Tarak, who had a vision to create a spiritual ultra-running event that would test the physical and mental endurance of participants, while also honoring the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra.
To turn this vision into a reality, Bhushan collaborated with his friends Swaminathan Shriniwasan, Janardhan Kattul, and Ajit Gore. Together, they conceptualized Runwari and worked tirelessly to make it a successful event.
The first edition of Runwari, held in 2021, was a special one as it took place during the COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing lockdown in Maharashtra. Despite the challenging circumstances, the organizers were determined to make the event happen. The success of the first edition was largely due to the dedication and hard work of the volunteers who made the event possible.
The organizers would like to express their gratitude to the following volunteers who played a crucial role in making the first edition of Runwari a success: Prashant Bhosale, Nandkishor Musale, Datta Khot, Digamber Janbhare, Tanaji Devekar, Sanjay Gavali, Vinod Talgatti, Rajesh Nale, Rahul Nalawade, and Mahendra Mohite.
The organizers believe that Runwari is more than just a running event; it is a celebration of the human spirit and a testament to the power of determination and perseverance. The organizers are committed to making each edition of Runwari better than the last and to ensure that the event continues to inspire and challenge runners from all over the world.
